Dandelion

The Dandelion Room - for children aged 30 months and over

The pre-school classroom readies the children for the next phase of their education - school. Children are shown that they have power over their own environment and that with this, comes responsbility. By taking responsibility for themselves and their actions, children are able to play and learn co-operatively with one another.

We take great pride in allowing the children to grow and develop at their own pace - however fast this may be. Provision is made for the children to access the entire curriculum at all times, meaning children are able to self-select and truly create their own educational path.

The Dandelion Room is equipped for pre-school children, aged 3 to 5. The purpose-built classroom is light and airy and has lots of room. With easy access to the garden, the classroom is able to make the most of good weather, by operating as a free-flow room into the garden.

The classroom planning includes a range of activities, extending from literacy and numeracy to Italian language and cultural lessons. Each child is treated as a true individual, and the provisions reflect this.

The well-qualified Montessori  staff set a scene of mutual respect, empathy and community. Through the use of the Montessori auto-didactic materials, we are able to meet the requirements of the EYFS curriculum in a creative and individualised way.
